We are a family of 4 (2adults +2 teenage girls) going on a trip to taipei on the last week of December. Would like to stay in a nice and cosy hot spring boutique hotel. Can anyone recommend me a good one? Thks.

Taipei Travel Tips and Q&A - Beitou hot spring hotel

Personally, our favorite is Spring City Resort. They offer both public and private rooms with quality afternoon tea (buffet). The price is not too expensive too. If you are able to purchase hot spring ticket online, it would be only around $TWD 500 per person for hot springs. With meals or buffet, it costs around $TWD 1,000. Their double bed room (with SPA & breakfast is around $TWD 4000~5000). You can find for cheaper accommodation ticket online for around $TWD 3,600~3,700.

Of course, you can stay at somewhere closer to the Central Taipei City and go to the hot springs with hot springs only. This way, you can actually save a lot of money. :)

Our Taipei serviced apartment is just few MRT stops to Beitou and two stops to Taipei Main Station. In your case, you can consideration our Family Apartment. Please mention you are from TripAdvisor forum, so I can personally give you a discount! :)
